NOTIFICATION
NO.SO (F-III) 2-4/2008-09. In exercise of powers conferred upon him under Section 12 (5) of the Punjab Finance Act 1964, the Governor of the Punjab is pleased to fix the rate of Sugarcane (Dev) Cess Rs. 1.50/- per 40 kg or Rs. 3.75/- per 100 kg (per quintal) or Rs. 37.50/- per metric ton for the crushing season 2008-09.
2. The incidence of the cess amount shall be shared equally by the sugar mills and person (grower) selling sugarcane to the mill. In case the sugarcane obtained from the sugar mills own farm, the cess at the rate of Rs. 1.50/- per 40 kg or Rs. 3.75/- per 100 kg (per quintal) or Rs. 37.50/- per metric ton shall be paid by the mill.
