NOTIFICATION
NO.SO (F-III) 2-4/2008-09. Whereas, it is necessary to fix a minimum purchase price of sugarcane in exercise of powers under Section 16 (i) of the Punjab Sugar Factories Control Act, 1950.
2. Now, therefore, in exercise of the aforesaid powers, the minimum purchase price of sugarcane at the Factory Gate as well as at the Cane Purchase Centers, for the crushing season 2008-09 is fixed at Rs. 80/- per 40 kg or Rs. 200/- per 100 kg. (per quintal) or Rs. 2,000/- per Metric Ton. However, the Sugar Factories may deduct from the purchase price, the transportation charges incurred by them on the cane purchased at purchase centers and other locations away from the factory gate at the rate of Rs. 0.60 per quintal (100 kgs) per kilometer subject to a maximum deduction for a distance of 40 kilometer (s) from the factory gate for the crushing season 2008-09.
